Who we are
Dalit Bahujan Resource Centre was established in 1992 and works for the Social, Economic and Cultural transformation of the Dalit Bahujan Communities with a special focus on the development of women and children in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. DBRC works to gain dignity and self-respect of Dalit Bahujan Communities by providing information, knowledge and capacity building towards rights-based approaches and community-led development initiatives for strengthening access to education, sustainable livelihoods, labour rights, accountable governance, disaster preparedness, and environmental sustainability.
Building Dignity, Justice, and Opportunity Since 1992
Dalit Bahujan Resource Centre (DBRC) is a grassroots development organization working for the social, economic, and cultural transformation of marginalized communities, especially Dalits, Adivasis, Denotified Tribes, women, children, waste pickers, farmers, and informal workers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Founded in 1992, DBRC works to advance dignity, equality, and social justice through rights-based and community-led development approaches. Over the past three decades, the organization has partnered with communities to strengthen access to education, sustainable livelihoods, labour rights, social protection, accountable governance, disaster response, and environmental sustainability. DBRC believes that lasting change happens when communities are empowered with knowledge, leadership, and opportunities to claim their rights and shape their futures.
Today, DBRC works across multiple thematic areas including: Education and child development; Livelihoods and financial inclusion; Women’s leadership and gender justice; Labour rights and informal workers’ protection; Health, sanitation, and housing; Disaster response and climate resilience; and Governance, research, and policy advocacy.
Through grassroots mobilization, partnerships, research, and direct community engagement, DBRC continues to work towards an inclusive society where every individual can live with dignity, equality, and opportunity.

To enable assertive interventions by marginalized communities towards their socio-economic empowerment through awareness, capacity building, advocacy, and sustainable development initiatives.
