Claiming Economic Justice

DBRC promotes socio-economic justice for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities by advocating for the effective implementation of the SC/ST Sub-Plan Act and ensuring that allocated resources reach the intended beneficiaries. The organisation creates awareness about government schemes, entitlements, and services available under the Sub-Plan framework, enabling communities to access their rights and benefit from public investments. Through community engagement and interface meetings with government departments, DBRC facilitates greater transparency, accountability, and optimal utilisation of SC/ST component budgets.

To strengthen public oversight and evidence-based advocacy, DBRC conducts research and budget monitoring initiatives to assess the implementation and impact of the SC/ST Sub-Plan Act. The findings and recommendations from these studies are shared with policymakers and government agencies to influence policy improvements and strengthen service delivery. DBRC also builds the capacities of community leaders, Budget Watch teams, and grassroots organisations, while fostering partnerships with civil society organisations, academicians, intellectuals, retired bureaucrats, and community representatives to collectively monitor public expenditure and advance the rights and development of SC/ST communities.
