Empowering Marginalized Communities — with Human Dignity, Social Justice and Social Democracy.

Climate Resilience & Disaster Management

Climate change and recurring disasters disproportionately affect marginalized communities, particularly Dalits, Adivasis, Denotified communities, informal workers, migrant labourers, women-headed households, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities. DBRC works to strengthen the resilience of these vulnerable groups through community-based disaster preparedness, climate adaptation, and humanitarian response initiatives.

During floods, droughts, extreme weather events, and other humanitarian crises, DBRC provides timely relief and recovery support, including emergency food and non-food assistance, hygiene and sanitation kits, cash assistance, temporary shelter materials, and educational support for affected children. The organisation also promotes disaster risk reduction through awareness programmes, community preparedness planning, and capacity-building initiatives that enable communities to anticipate, withstand, and recover from climate-related shocks.

Working closely with local communities, government agencies, and development partners, DBRC ensures that disaster response efforts are inclusive, transparent, and community-driven. Through its integrated approach to climate resilience and disaster management, DBRC helps vulnerable communities protect their livelihoods, strengthen adaptive capacities, and build a safer and more sustainable future.
