Research and Evidence-Based Action
The Dalit Bahujan Resource Centre (DBRC) undertakes research studies, surveys, and community assessments across its project locations to better understand the realities, challenges, and development needs of marginalized communities. These studies examine key human development issues, including access to basic amenities and services, labour rights and informal sector concerns, social protection and welfare entitlements, housing and livelihood security, gender justice and community leadership, budget accountability and SC/ST Sub-Plan implementation, as well as disaster vulnerability and climate resilience. The organization conducts studies on issues affecting Dalits, Adivasis, Denotified Tribes, informal workers, women, and other vulnerable groups, generating evidence to support advocacy, social protection, and inclusive policy implementation.
Research areas include:
Through research and advocacy, DBRC works to strengthen accountability, influence policy dialogue, and promote equitable development outcomes for excluded communities. By generating reliable evidence and amplifying community voices, DBRC contributes to informed decision-making at the local and policy levels. The findings from these studies help identify gaps in service delivery, influence advocacy efforts, strengthen programme design, and guide future interventions. Through research-driven action, DBRC seeks to promote inclusive development, social justice, and sustainable improvements in the lives of Dalit, Adivasi, Denotified, and other marginalized communities.
